On top of The DOC: Busra
Let me introduce myself: my name is Busra, and I recently started as a Trainee System Engineer at The DOC. My role focuses on learning to integrate and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure.
Via this blog, I want to keep you updated on my progress during my traineeship and share all of my experiences, good and bad. 😉
I have a background in econometrics, statistics, and data science, and I’m very curious to expand my technical knowledge in the Oracle domain.
My first day at The DOC was great! I received a warm welcome from the team and got an overview of my responsibilities. To be honest, the experience was even better than I expected. The team was very supportive, and I felt at ease immediately.
After work, I mostly spent time getting settled and slept a lot. 😉 To celebrate my first week, my husband and I went out for a lovely dinner on Friday evening.
In the last two weeks, I have learned about the company’s system architecture and gained hands-on experience with new software tools and Oracle Linux. I have also started to get to know my colleagues better, which has been invaluable in helping me integrate into the team.
Looking back at the last few weeks, the best part was the team spirit and the support I received from my colleagues. Of course, it was challenging getting accustomed to the new systems and processes, but with the team’s help, I was able to overcome these challenges quickly.
Looking forward to the upcoming weeks, I plan to dive deeper into the specific Oracle Linux architecture and continue learning and growing in my role. I am particularly looking forward to learning more about the integration processes and improving my skills in Oracle Linux.
Last Thursday was my birthday, and we celebrated it at The DOC with my colleagues and delicious vlaai! There was also a “personeelsvereniging” event where we drove e-choppers and had a BBQ. It was a wonderful coincidence that it happened on my birthday, and it was so much fun!
